HELLSPLIT # 1 - Dims Rebellion vs. The Dontcares CD (Kjell
Hell Records)
A double-bill made uo of two bands, back to back, both from Stockholm.
Dims Rebellion get six tracks whilst their counterparts,
The Dontcares clock up seven.
The Dims Rebellion songs are marginally inferior to their longplaying
offer above. They don't sound as advanced, which becomes understandable
when you take into account this material is some earlier work from the
group. All the signs are there though, as we get primed for the full length
by displaying heaps of potentially good ideas. The Dontcares by comparison
are a snottier bunch and take their cues from the likes of B Movies
Rats, Zeke and Motörhead. Gnarly
gutter Punk that rocks like a fucker - something I wasn't expecting to
find on this CD for some reason.

HELLSPLIT # 1 - Dims Rebellion vs. The Dontcares CD (Kjell
Hell Records)
13 track-split c.d. from 2 bands who come from a country with one of the
highest suicide rates in the world, Sweden. First up are Dims
Rebellion who give us 5 tracks of a strange mix of streetpunk
with a touch of ska, with their last track being a country style song.
What I mean by this is the band play streetpunk songs with a gruff vocals
but have keyboards and a saxophone, a little odd at first but it does
work and out of the 6 tracks their isn't a bad one on here.
Next up are the Dontcares who give us 7 tracks of fast
hardcore metal. From the first track the band remeinded me of Earth AD
era Misfits, fast, loud with shouty chouruses. Again
the band don't have a bad track on here and for me they are the better
of the 2 bands, but only because I prefer their fast heavier style of
music.
If you've not heard of either band before this is a great introduction
to them both and I for one would recommend checking this c.d. out.

DIMS REBELLION/DONTCARES - Split CD (Kjell Hell)
Dims Rebellion give us 6 songs in much the same style
as their full length above - rocking punk that can vary from straight
forward Discipline style street punk to ultra catchy
rock/pop/punk/mod songs about girls, with a well executed organ and sax
making an appearance. Good stuff.
Don't Cares - also from Sweden - sound like a confederacy
of Scum band twice the speed; obviously influenced in equal parts of American
redneck rock n roll and Motörhead. Powerful but they
did fuck all for me.

HELLSPLIT # 1 - Dims Rebellion vs. The Dontcares CD (Kjell
Hell Records)
Dims Rebellion play melodic street punk. They actually remind me a lot
of the studio side of the first 4-SKINS LP. Lots of rousing
tunes, and some keyboards and sax. Pretty impressive. The Dontcares play
more straight-ahead, speedy angry stuf. Dims Rebellion are definitely
the standouts on this double Swedish offering.

HELLSPLIT # 1 - Dims Rebellion vs. The Dontcares CD
(Kjell Hell Records)
Kjell Hell Records is a new Swedish label that is really impressing people
all over Europe. Hellsplit is its second reference with
Dims Rebellion, one of the best bands one can listen
to at the moment.
They have just published their second studio album. The gods have listened
to my pleas -and to those of many others for sure- and have granted me
this brand new piece of exquisite Oi!
Do you remembar "Next to the Gods"? It was one of the debuts
I've liked most in the last few years. It really astonihed me. And can
you imagine waiting all this time thinkin': "I hope their next work is
as good as this one!"
These Swedes know what they're talkin' about, and have talent like few
others. They simply carry quality in their veins. My friend Mr. Kjell
sent me a few of his promos. I had asked him if there was any possibility
of editing some of Dims Rebellion's stuff here in Spain.
He told me: "Sorry mate, I've gotten tied up, and now I'm off to the Canaries
on vacation!" So that was it, no possibilty of editing their work.
Kjell's first experience with them is this split CD with the Dontcares
(whom I'd never heard of). Dims' songs are called: “No
One”, “Kill Yourself”, “In My Bed”, “Without
You”, “So Low” and “Fade Away”.
Are they any good? They're great!! Brilliant, splendid, outstanding...I've
run out of adjectives to describe them!! They already possess a particular
style...something very hard to achieve. Magnificent vocals, powerful at
the precise moments. You guys are maestros! If I had to choose one song,
that would be "So Low", it's one of my favorites (not only amongst
Dim's songs, but in general). "Fade Away" is also a killer tune
with country riffs that only they know how to combine. Believe me if we're
looking at one of the best bands of our time. The split CD is worth buying
just because of them.
The Dontcares are also Swedes (I think??). Real badasses.
One of them has the largest sideburns I've ever seen! About their music...
I would call it hardcore, however, not being an expert in the genre it
may not be a good classification. Please excuse the ignorance. This Cd
is a MUST!!!

HELLSPLIT # 1 - Dims Rebellion vs. The Dontcares CD
(Kjell Hell Records)
The first split from a serie of Swedish bands collection. 6 tracks are
from Dims Rebellion, on their ultramelodic punk style,
except for their last song where they come into some kind of country also!,
this is a band which everyday I like more....
The Dontcares plays a totally opposed style but which
I personally love, a superfast punkrock, with short songs plenty of rage,
showing that velocity and class are not impossible to work together! 7
songs which reminds me of Dwarves, Zeke
or also the first Californian hardcore. Good.

DIMS REBELLION/DONTCARES-HELLSPLIT NUMMER 1 (Kjell Hell
Records)
DIMS REBELLION starts things off with a street punk styled
tune, and by the third song, a sax and an organ have also carried the
primary melody. There's a hint of the CLASH just influenced
them to experiment with saxesand organs over streetpunk. Actually, I think
I'd like them better with just guitars, bass, drums, and their strong
vocals.
The DONTCARES strip it down and rip through some high-octnaerock
in the vein of ZEKE. DIMS REBELLION is lucky
to get the first six songs, because the DONTCARES rock so hard
they blow away DIMS big time. Nothing very orginal, but it's well executed
and it rocks!

DIMS REBELLION/DONTCARES-HELLSPLIT NUMMER 1 (CD-KJELL HELL KJELL
002)
First split on Kjell Hell (it will come more) and that record feels promising.
Dims Rebellion is first out and their intensive punkrock
reminds me about both early 80´s and English punk and when the saxophone
comes into the music it isn´t only own music and it´s really good. Really
really good. 6 songs of high class punkrock and the refrains is there
precisely as they should be and Dims Rebellions fullength
is really a record which I look forward to.
DontCares is tougher and more hard to compare with anything
but as a hybrid of Motörhead and Zeke but with a punkier
style is a style they have.
I like Dims Rebellion better even if DontCares
have a fucking speed in their music.
