V/A - Brewed In Sweden vol 3 CD (Kjell Hell)
A really well packed 23 song comp here with short biogs and pics of each band.
Unlike most comps this includes a lot of unreleased stuff and quality control is high; in fact the household names like Bombshell Rocks and Voice Of A Generation are made to sound inferior by many of the bands, esp Voice Of 77, Flapjacks, SCAMS and Bombdolls.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - Brewed In Sweden volume 3 (Kjell Hell Records)
The third showcase of Swedish streetpunk presents 23 bands offering their best Oi!, punk and tough guy stuff, Swedish style - which actually sounds remarkably like what you'd expect from folks that love COCKSPARRER and RANCID. If you do too, you might want to check this out.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - Brewed In Sweden volume 3 (Kjell Hell Records)
Swedish streetpunk sampler.
To paraphrase Monty Python, apart from a Garage Rock revival, Abba, Ikea and Sven Goran Eriksson, what have the Swedes ever done for us?
Well for starters, there's their enduring love affair with Streetpunk and Oi, which has been well and truly documented on this here 23-track compilation. There are a couple of names to be found here you'll no doubt be already familiar with, namely Voice of a Generation and Bombshell Rocks who unfortunately contributed previously released tracks. There are some hidden gems though, particularly The Flap-Jacks anthemic "Killing Me", The Mockingbirds "Regrets" and Ticking Bombs "Battle Cry".
While there's nothing particularly groundbreaking here, if Streetpunk is your cup of tea you should have no trouble finding something to your taste.

VVAA - Brewed In Sweden volume 3 (Kjell Hell Records)
Everyday I´m more surprised with Sweden, how a not very big country can host such a lot of great bands? An answer? I don´t known, but every time I get a new record from this country I get a nice surprise, because besides quantity, in Sweden there´s quality!! And this is what really count.
After the two first volumes at least arrived in our hands the thirth volume of this compilation, and it´s as good as the previous ones. Nothing less than 23 bands with one song from every one, and the main part are unreleased or they have been released only in vinyl. Most of the bands have a punkrock base but they touch various styles: clasic punk, Oi!, American style punkrock and also some hardcore. Amongst all these bands we find well known names as Voice of a Generation, Agent Bulldogg or Bombshell Rocks and a lot of more unknown bands from which I liked the more Dims Rebellion, The Mockingbirds or Voice of 77. The booklet is nice and well realized, full colour, with photos and an intro to every band. If you liked the previous volumes, you won´t be disappointed with this new one!

Brewed In Sweden volume 3 - Various (Kjell Hell Records)
A Swedish streetpunk showcase dating back to 2001. This one features BOMBSHELL ROCKS and VOICE OF A GENERATION, as well as AGENT BULLDOGG (who turns a nice cover of MADNESS' "Disapper"), DIMS REBELLION, and THE SLUGGERS, who have all appeared on previous volumes. Stand out tracks are SCAMS and the RUTHLESS BASTARDS.

Brewed In Sweden volume 3 - Various (Kjell Hell Records)
23 track compilation of Sweden's premier punk bands, with the tracks being either previously unreleased or only available on vinyl.
Each band gets 1 track and I'm not going to list all the bands as it would take too long so I'll point out my favourites. Ruthless Bastards start the whole thing off with a great sounding streetpunk song. Voice of a Generation have a sound not a millio miles away from Snuff (but they're not as fast). I haven't got a clue what Malte X are singing about but their track 'alkohol' is a good rock'n'roll punk tune. The Sluggers sound like Last Resort, while Hathor play a son that could have been written by Motorhead. Bombshell Rocks shouldn't need any introduction and have a cracking song on here 'No.1'.
I could go on but I'll just say that IF this CD represents the standard of Punk in Sweden, we (us here in the U.K.) have a lot of catching up to do. If you like all things punk you won't be disappointed by this.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - Brewed in Sweden Vol. 3
Kjell Hell Records is a brand new record company, and Brewed in Sweden vol. 3 is it's first release. Volume 1 and 2 was released by Blind Beggar, but this time the swedes has decided to do it themself. 23 different bands appear on this cd. Most of them are bands unknown to me, but you also have a few of the well known swedish bands like Voice of a Generation and Agent Bulldogg.
I'm a huge fan of swedish punkrock. Bands like Agent Bulldogg, The Jinx, Asta Kask etc. is among my favourite bands but i must confess that I also has some prejudices against new bands coming out of Sweden. I think they tend to have a more american sound and with me beeing a fan of the old UK'77 sound, it doesn't always go that well in my ears. My prejudices are partly confirmed here but I also get a few extremely nice surprises. Dims Rebellion is always good, even though I have heard them better than their contribution here. Malte X I have never heard of before but I think their track, Alkohol, is very good. Agent Bulldogg is one of my all time favourite bands and I was very disappointed when I found out that their contribution to this album was the track Disappear. I expected a new track so that's why I was disappointed. The song is a Madness cover and has previously been released on a Madness tribute album. Great song in all ways but it is not new.
Hathor is also new to me and their track, Philthy, is definitely one of the highlights of the album. They have a more dirty, glam-like sound than most of the other bands on the compilation. Other bands I like here is the Drive-Ins, Contemptuous, Frontlash and Bombshell Rocks.
47 Bands from all over Sweden has appeared on the three Brewed records. That is quite impressive and tells us that punk's not dead in Sweden. With all these bands there are still a few I miss. The Jinx haven't appeared on any of the brewed albums but I would love to see them there. There is also a good hardcore-band called Heldback that I would like to see there.
Anyway, I guess this cd, like the rest of the Brewed in Sweden cds, gives a fairly good picture of the punk scene in Sweden. It's worth buying because the tracks that are good are really good, and then it doesn't matter if some of the tracks are rather uninteresting.
Kjell Hell Records is also promising us releases from Dims Rebellion and The Accidents before christmas. I am especially looking forward to the debut album of Dims. They have released a 7' earlier and they appear on vol. 1, 2 and 3 in the Brewed in Sweden series. Very promising band indeed.

BREWED IN SWEDEN VOL 3 (CD-Kjell Hell KJELL 001)
Third record in this serie of swedish street/oi/punkrock. First out is Ruthless Bastards and they do a real oipunk which feels like it´s taken from the beginning of the 80´s. Dims Rebellion is really interesting with their oipunk with saxophone and there is no band in Sweden who sounds like them, I really looking foreward to thwe fullength which will be released with them on Kjell Hell. Voice of a Generation Rancidsimilar punk is really good. Flap Jacks plays also they a Rancidstyled music. The first swedishsinged song stands Malte X for and Agent Bulldogg have a Swedish name but they sings in English. A little bit like 4-skins in some way, really good. Mockingbirds is one of my favouritedemobands and they continue to convince me with their good punk. Contemptuous is really nice and here it smells Swedish punk of the 80´s. Accidents plays fast and they´re really good. Inglorious Bastards is almost the best group on the record because their music it´s done to sing along with. Terrible Mistakes melodic punkrock is also really good and Troublemakers play the last song on the record with their Hatlåt and they have never been wrong.
